ONCE YOU DECIDE TO LOVE YOURSELF, IT NO LONGER MATTERS WHO ELSE LOVES YOU
We are always searching for everyone else's approval. We are always looking for someone to give us validation. We are constantly seeking the respect of everyone around us. But at what cost? While we are looking for the love and affection of others we are unknowingly losing ourselves in the process. That is not to say that we will ever stop wanting people to love us. We all want to feel like there are people out there who genuinely care about us. It supplies us with a sense of confidence and support. But before we go looking for people to satisfy our need to be loved we must sit down with ourselves and ask one question. Do I love me? People think that you have to like everything about yourself in order to love yourself, and in my opinion that is not true. There are many things I don't like about my family members but I love them just the same. There are always going to be things that we wish we could change about ourselves and Who We Are. But you need to be able to love yourself past your imperfections. When you don't have genuine love for yourself you open yourself up to mistreatment and heartache. You start seeking the affection of everyone around you and people notice it and take advantage of it. When you truly love yourself you stop accepting less than what you deserve because you already know what love feels like. So, can you honestly say that you love you?
